The TGS system has a total capacity of 1.8 million tons and it has been certified by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to be a safe, environmentally friendly, efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional storage systems.
The Tata Global storage system is expected to be available for use by 2020.

The TGS, which was introduced in March 2019, has a capacity of 3.5 million tons.
The system consists of a central hub, which delivers energy from a series of generators to the central grid, and two additional hubs.
The capacity of the central hub is 1.4 million tons while the capacity of each of the additional hubs is 1 million tons, and each of them is controlled by one or more individual customers.
The central hub can provide power to one-third of the world, and power from each of these additional hubs can supply power to three-quarters of the globe.
This system enables customers to have more than one energy source to provide energy at home and on demand, as well as to store electricity in central storage and at other locations.TGS is being developed with the support of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), the Indian government’s energy department.
It will be delivered in two phases.
The first phase will have a commercial release in 2021.
The second phase is expected in 2022.
Tales of the TGSTGS will be able to store more than 3.2 million tons of energy at a total consumption of more than 8,000 MW, making it the most advanced and cost efficient storage system on the planet.
TGS can be operated at a single-room or multi-room facility with a capacity ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 square meters.
It can be designed to store large amounts of electricity or power generated by renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and hydroelectricity.
It is also designed to be modular and able to accommodate any number of customers, depending on the amount of energy stored.
Tgs storage will be fully integrated with the existing grid.
The storage facility will be equipped with automatic equipment, like a control room, and an automated monitoring system will provide a daily assessment of the power levels, which will be recorded and communicated to the storage management system.
The automatic monitoring system can monitor the energy levels of a customer or of the whole facility, and can be configured to automatically switch off the central power, the central monitoring system, the automatic cooling system, or the automatic pumping of water and other water sources to the system.
TGs system is also connected to a central distribution grid, which can supply electricity to the entire country.
The system is designed to operate continuously and will be deployed in multiple locations across the country and at different times.
It comprises an electric transmission line, which connects the central storage facility with the central distribution system.
Tata Power and Tata Global are working on the development of a commercial product.
The project will be launched in two years and the first batch of customers will be awarded a contract for the delivery of the system in 2021, with deliveries planned for 2022 and beyond.
