Knox win over Refrigerated Equipment Stand to Win Championship NDSL title

Knox won the NDSU basketball championship Saturday, the fourth title in the program’s history.

The Knights were led by freshman guard Andrew Miller, who scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Junior guard Isaiah Bell, who played in only five games, added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Rice also was a part of the win, scoring 20 points.

The Huskies had won five in a row, including the last two against the Knights.

Killing a streakThe Huskies trailed for only two minutes in the first half before taking a 30-19 lead into halftime.

But after three minutes, the Huskies got the ball back on their own 13-0 run, which included two 3-pointers.

The Husky lead ballooned to 20 in the third, when Miller hit a pair of free throws to make it 59-38.

Bell and Miller followed with two more 3-point plays, giving the Husky a 54-35 lead at the break.

The score was tied at 56 when Rice hit a 3 with 5:40 to go.

The next time the Huskers got the lead, they scored on a 3 by Johnson.

But the Husker’s last shot of the half came on a dunk by Johnson, which made it 74-52.

Bell had 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Rice added 10 points.

Knight lead changesKnox led the second half, 63-56, but the Husks answered with a 7-0 spurt that capped the 3-pointer and put the game away.

Miller added 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Rice had 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Miller had a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Riley added 15 points and seven rebounds.
